This beautifully illustrated book is devoted to the work of the architect and interior decorator Bill Willis. Each chapter highlights a different project he completed in Morocco over the years, such as the Dar Es Saada, the Villa Oasis and Rick’s Café, among other iconic places. The reader is also introduced to his work for commercial ventures, such as the Tichka Hotel, La Trattoria and Dar Yacout restaurants, and the Jardin Majorelle boutique.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Bill Willis arrived in Morocco in 1966. Shortly thereafter, the international jet-setters who had settled in Marrakech commissioned him to decorate and embellish their homes. Bill Willis fell in love with Morocco and made it his mission to highlight and preserve the refined craftsmanship of the Kingdom. Although each of his projects is a homage to the traditional art of Morocco, his originality lies in a reinvention of the Moroccan decorative canon through his uniquely personal vision.
